Club-Updates
Sunday, March 29 - Late Afternoon Message
Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone for sharing all the communication today!  Makes a difference!

As the shadows grow longer on a wet, windy, sunny, spring day the path ahead seems brighter for a return to our new normal.

As a facility operator, you have two choices if you have been told to cease operations already.  Ask for permission to reopen or open and ask for forgiveness.

It's important that you understand that your local Health District does have the ultimate authority despite what the Ohio Department of Health rescinded late yesterday afternoon.

So if you ask for permission here is a sample request...

Salutation,

I hope this finds you and yours well and that you've had some time to decompress from what I’m sure has been a very hectic and difficult last few weeks.

I’m not positive how this works, but reports are coming in from around the state that the Ohio Department of Health rescinded the order closing our Golf Facilities late Saturday Afternoon, providing of course, when they reopen they continue to meet and exceed the requirements of Social Distancing.  (I’ve attached the email sent by Erie County Early on Sunday)

Our Golf Course has worked diligently to meet and exceed the Requirements in the Social Distancing Section of the Stay at Home Order and would welcome the opportunity to again provide the basic, secure service to ensure our golfers can enjoy the Outdoor Activity so essential for good mental and physical health while maintaining an abundance of social distancing during this crisis.

Please be well, be safe and thank you for being there for our community, and hopefully, golf will not provide any additional burdens to your already overburdened workload.

An Important Heads Up...

Remember, that if one employee has symptoms or tests positive, ALL staff members that were around that individual during their shift would have to self quarantine for 14 days. Based on your staff level you may have to cease operations anyway.

Thanks to Darren Butler, PGA / GM at Cossett Creek for Sharing...

Basic Predictions from Dr. Amy Acton is that between 40% and 60% of the population of Ohio will catch the virus.  Please be mindful and careful as many of us serve an older clientele.

More as it develops.  Be Well!
