After the 1st Round of the Mid Am and Sr Metro
Thursday_Post_Image- After the first round of this year's Mid-Amateur and Senior Metropolitan, multiple competitors have put themselves in a solid position going into tomorrow's Final Round.

In the Mid-Amateur portion of the Championship which features everyone playing from the Championship Tees at just over 6,700 yards, it was the Two Time Senior Metropolitan Champion Pete Betzold leading the way with a 3 under par 68.  Two shots back is the Defending Champion, Jeff Scohy and Brandon Johnson who both fired a 1 under par 71.

In the Senior Metropolitan Contest, Pete Betzold has the lead outright by three shots over Ethan McBean who had a 74 and the Defending Senior Champion Curt Cranmer who finished with a 75.

In the Ages 65 to 74 age division Doug Gage the 2005 Overall Senior Metropolitan Champion and John Sherman share the first round lead with a 5 over par 78.  In our oldest division, those 75 and older, Multiple Time Overall Metropolitan Champion, Skip Snow is tied with Tom Keltner with a first-round score of 80.

The first round saw a total field scoring average of 82.87. Hole # 7, the Par 3, playing anywhere from 163 to 221 yards, based on the division of play, was the toughest with an average score of 4.02, and the easiest hole, was Hole #5, which played at just over par at 5.26.  

Friday's Tee Times begin at 8am with our Final Group Teeing off at 12:50pm.
