In third place, with 162.5 points, we have Tyler Goecke, a recent graduate from Wright State University and soon-to-be graduate student at the University of Illinois. Tyler earned his points by qualifying for the US Amateur Four-Ball and winning three matches before bowing out in the Semi-Finals to the eventual champions from California. 

Occupying the second spot with 287 points is Austin Greaser, a Vandalia native and three-time Player of the Year, Austin will be returning to the University of North Carolina for his final year. Austin accumulated his points through his automatic eligibility for the US Open Final and his participation in the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour in early May.  

Leading the overall race with an impressive 407.5 points is Bryce Haney, our 2021 Metropolitan Champion. Bryce partnered with Tyler Goecke in the US Four Ball, performed well in the Spring Better Ball, qualified for the Ohio Amateur, and had an excellent showing, finishing tied for 5th in the Ohio Open. 

In the Senior Division of Play, which has seen limited opportunities thus far in this season, three players are tied for the lead with 50 points. These players include our most recent Senior Player of the Year, David Clancy, the 2018 Senior Player of the Year, Ron Eubel, and Roger Johnson, all of whom performed admirably in the Spring Better Ball. 

With many more events on the docket there is still a good deal of volatility and more points to be awarded.  The Player of the Year Awards will be announced towards the end of the year.
