FTSG_Beer_Can- It's hard to beleive that we've been engaging with you every Saturday for an uninterrupted 290 weeks now. On average, around 7,000 of you open the FTSG email, translating to an open rate of 42%. This statistic is quite remarkable, especially considering that a substantial portion of the email content is crafted by someone with limited writing and IT skills, compounded by dyslexia. Clearly, this underscores the evident hunger for local golf-related content in the Miami Valley.

Back on January 13, 2018, when we initially launched the weekly email, we were still in the process of brainstorming a suitable name for the newsletter. After numerous name submissions and a vote, the title "From the Short Grass" (often abbreviated as FTSG) emerged as the chosen moniker. This name not only captures the essence of our golf-centric content but has also grown to become an integral part of our operations.

Recently, an email landed in my inbox from an individual who had been an active participant in those early days, suggesting and ultimately voting for the name "From The Short Grass." This reminder of our inception served as a backdrop to his experience with our latest venture - the From the Short Grass Beer, a collaborative effort with Crooked Handle. This golden ale has found its way into select golf establishments and even onto the shelves of Dorothy Lane Markets.
