- Our leader in the Mid-Amateur Player of the Year Points Race and recent Mid Am Champion, Jeff Scohy tees off today in the 42 nd  US Mid-Amateur Championship at 1:07 at Sleepy Hollow CC in Scarborough, NY and on Sunday at 8:17 on the qualifying sister course Fenway Golf Club.  After the 36-hole stroke play portion of the Championship the low 64 scores advance into Match Play with the final match being played over 36 Holes on Thursday.  Our area last hosted this championship in 1998 at NCR CC when John “Spider” Miller won the championship over Chip Holcombe over a very soggy golf course from a week of almost constant rain.
