Course Renovation Seminar
content_USGA_Green- NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio - A half-day seminar to provide golf course decision makers the information and tools they need to plan and execute a successful course renovation will be held September 28, 2022 at Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, Ohio. Conducted by the Northern Ohio Golf Association, United States Golf Association (USGA) and American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), the seminar will help facilities get the most out of on-going and upcoming renovation projects.

Presenters from the host organizations will provide course owners, superintendents, general managers, and green committee members with the latest research, relevant case studies, and insights from industry experts.

The registration fee is $100 for an individual, and facilities/clubs may register up to four attendees for a group rate of $300. Event and registration information may be found at noga.org.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support The Turn, a nonprofit founded by the NOGA, in its efforts to renovate the North Olmsted Golf Club into a completely accessible course that will serve people with physical disabilities in Northern Ohio.

Scheduled speakers include Ohio native and ASGCA President Jason Straka, USGA Agronomist Zach Nicoludis, Club Benchmarking founder Ray Cronin and ASGCA members Brian Huntley, Shawn Smith, Brit Stenson and Chris Wilczynski.

“There has never been a better time to consider course renovations,” Nicoludis said. “This seminar will discuss the renovation process with real examples that illustrate the benefits of a well-planned and executed project.”

“The session brings the ASGCA and USGA together to provide Ohio golf course leaders information they can take back to their facilities to begin the process,” Straka said. “I’m excited to participate and see what we learn from each other.”

“Golf in Ohio is in a great place,” said Robb Schulze, NOGA’s chief executive officer. “More golfers playing more rounds means it is more important than ever for courses to be at their best today and for years to come. Everyone will benefit from what they hear at Westwood.”
