 Jim Weaver -

407-XLJim has been a long-time active volunteer and recently he has gotten his wife Meggan involved as well.

Jim currently resides in Sidney, which further distinguishes his volunteerism as he routinely has over an hour drive to reach any of our MVGA Event locations.

When not busy volunteering Jim and Meggan have two sons, two grandsons, two granddaughters and two grand dogs to fill their time.   If that is not enough… Jim also volunteers as a T-ball coach,  youth basketball coach, serves on the Sidney Zoning Committee and also has been known to pick up a paint brush as part of the  Citizens Paint Committee.

His love of the game, he developed as a teen through his many rounds of golf with his dad.  This led him to coached Tri-Village High School’s golf team back in the 70’s.  His passion for the game has turned into many golf trips that he has organized, one for more than a dozen years every spring break to Myrtle Beach.

When he moved to Sydney in 1985, he started playing at all the Area Courses with some success, He won the Senior Club Championship at Piqua Country Club and joined the Hole in One Club in May of 1999.  Over the last few years, he has played in most of the MVGA Masters Events.

He plans to travel to Scotland in a few months and his schedule includes rounds at Royal Troon, North Berwick’s West Links, Kingsbarns and the Old Course and the Jubilee Course in St. Andrews.

Jim’s love and service to the Game is why he is in our Volunteer Spotlight.  Thanks for all you do Jim!
