 Andrew Boedecker
Andy- Andrew Boedecker has been a Miami Valley Golf volunteer for the past 5 years as a course rater. Since the age of five, Andrew's journey with golf began when his father introduced him to the sport. Armed with a collection of clubs, he took to the greens of his hometown in Howards Grove, Wisconsin, where he spent every summer perfecting his swing alongside his neighbor, a seasoned ballhawk.

Throughout high school and into college at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Andrew's love for golf only grew. Winning junior tournaments in Wisconsin and captaining his college golf team, he honed his skills both on and off the fairway.

After a hiatus from competitive play, Andrew made a triumphant return to the tournament scene in 2023. Winning the Miami Valley Golf Association Senior Metropolitan Championship, by shooting a 70-78 to win by one shot.

But Andrew's contributions to golf extend beyond his own achievements. Volunteering with organizations like Miami Valley Golf and the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association, he shares his expertise and love for the game with others. From rating courses to volunteering at prestigious events like the US Senior Women's Open and the LPGA Queen City Championship.

Outside of the golf course, Andrew's life is filled with love and family. Meeting his wife Kathy in an online chat room in 1998, he made the life-changing decision to move from Phoenix to Ohio to be with her. Their union has blessed them with two children, Calvin and Heidi.

And then, there's that memorable moment on the golf course that holds a special place in Andrew's heart. Making his only hole-in-one with his wedding party the day before he tied the knot, Andrew's celebration on the greens of Crooked Tree in Mason is etched in his memory forever.

Andrew currently works for Fund Evaluation Group in Cincinnati OH, as Vice President- Client Service. He is an avid Green Bay Packer fan having been born and raised in Wisconsin. He plays golf regularly at Stonelick Hills in SW OH, but drives to Purgatory GC in Noblesville IN, 3- 5 times a year to play there.

We are so happy to have Andrew as apart of our Course Rating team. Thanks for everything that you do for Miami Valley Golf!
