Debbie Stricker

- Debbie has been volunteering for Miami Valley Golf for several years as a course rater and has volunteered at some of the high school qualifiers. She also volunteers at several other places including as an Angel on Request (taking needy clients to appointments/shopping or sitting with a family member to give a caretaker some free time) and Operation Homebound (delivering monthly meals to homebound residents of Del Webb Spruce Creek community) in Florida where she and her husband Bob spend their winters. She has also chaired several events for LPGA Amateurs including Member Guest and Girls Getaway Weekend.

Debbie and Bob have been married for 37 years and have two sons and three grandchildren that live in Chicago. She retired from Miami Valley Career Technology Center and currently lives in Miamisburg OH. Her hobbies include playing pickleball in both Ohio and Florida and teaching cooking classes for a cooking club in Florida.

Debbie is a member of the Dayton Chapter of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association and has helped prepare the newsletter for the past ten years. She belongs to the Heatherwoode Ladies Golf Association and was club champion twice. She placed third in the First National Scramble Open and has placed in several regional tournaments. She also plays in DDWGA events throughout the summer and is the captain of a league at Yankee Trace. Her 8-person Cup team placed third in the regional qualifier last year in Missouri and they participated in the finals in Virginia.

This past February she underwent surgery on her clavicle after tripping over a sprinkler head but is excited to be back on the golf course and pickleball courts! Thanks, Debbie, for all that you do, we are thrilled to have you as a Miami Valley Golf Volunteer!

April Volunteer SpotlightJeff Jena - Jeff Jena currently resides in Middletown OH with his wife Carrie who he’s been married to for 28 years. He has one son, Miles, who is an accomplished musician. His wife and son are both avid golfers as well. Jeff golfs frequently at Wildwood Golf Club and recently received advanced certification in the rules of golf. He has won several Miami Valley Masters events and was the Two-Man Spring Best Ball Champion in 2004.
