Day 11 Mentors Matter July 18, 2007
We were back on the range today as the weather cooperated. Bill took half of the group to the main range for full swing work while David led the other half to the short game area where they worked on short pitches of about 20 yards. Both groups worked on creating smooth, effortless, repeating swings. Golf is not a game of brute force, but one of finesse and coordination. After lunch, Baxter provided the lesson for the day. He spoke about how we develop habits, both good and bad. Did you know that it takes 21 days to create a habit? He talked about training the mind as well as the body. Baxter also provided some very interesting, yet disturbing statistics. The one that shocked the group was the fact that only 5% of our population ever goes to a book store!! And 85% of that 5% are women!! That's a real eye-opener! Thanks to Phillip, Jennell and Jeff for helping out today.
