 2014 US Amateur Qualifiers

The US Amateur Qualifier at Miami Valley Golf Club was a weather tormented event. After a two hour and twenty minute rain delay on Monday, play resumed, but was eventually suspended at 6:35 p.m. for more inclement weather. This caused the event to continue on to Tuesday and on Tuesday three gentlemen received their ticket to the US Amateur at Atlanta Athletic Club.
Tripp French was the medalist firing 69-67 for a total of six-under par. Jordan Millice wasn't far behind with a two-round total of four-under par (66-72). The last qualifying spot had to go into a playoff, where Alec Tahy faced off against Michael Shonk, who had completed his second round and posted a two-round two-under par before play was suspended on Monday.
The playoff only lasted one hole and Tahy came out victorious, while Shonk had to settle for the first alternate spot. Austin Cuervo grabbed the second alternate position. It was a great couple of days of golf and we can't wait to see how our qualifiers perform on the national stage in Atlanta August 11-17.
