- At the conclusion of the opening round of this year's 99th Metropolitan, multiple competitors have put themselves in a solid position going into tomorrow's Second Round. It was Justin Horn, a soon to be Junior at the University of Cincinnati who is studying Sports Management, who has taken the early lead as he carded a 3 under par 69. His round included six birdies against three bogies. Following with a two under score of 70 was Wright State Golfer and Native of Denmark, Mikkel Mathiesen. The only other round under par was a 71 fired by Nathan Vonderhaar, a soon to be Senior at Mason High School. These three golfers will tee off in the final tee time for tomorrow's second round at 12:20pm After Tomorrow's Round the top 32 players and ties will advance to weekend play. After the 1st Rd the 32nd position was at a score +4 (76). At even par was Evan DiSanto, Mason Witt and our first round leaders younger brother and incoming freshman to Wright State, Adam Horn. Our Defending Champion, Bryce Haney came in at 2 over par 74. The first round saw a scoring average of 80.6. Hole # 16 played the toughest with an average score on the par four of just under five of 4.94 and the easiest hole was Hole #15 which played at just over par at 5.04.
