Now that we are seeing the signs of Spring, we thought it was time to report on the changes and updates from our Area Clubs and Courses over the off season.  By no means do we think we have everything.   If there are items that we missed, please pass them along and we will share!  info@miamivalleygolf.org

MIAMI VALLEY GOLF CLUB
Has reorganized staffing with Leesa Cassell  assuming the Director of Operations position and Larry Herrmann, PGA becoming the Head Golf Professional.  View Their Current Invitation
SUGAR VALLEY GOLF CLUB
Hired Doug Wade, PGA as it's Head Golf Professional. Doug Cartwright, PGA is the Golf Professional Emeritus and will still contribute on a regular basis.  They are breaking ground shortly on their new clubhouse. 
KITTYHAWK GOLF COURSES
Through the creative programming of Jana Dalton and Kelly Pressel, There will be the second facility in the Miami Valley to offer Foot Golf which will be available on their Falcon Course (Old Kitty).  Rolandia Golf Center was the 1st facility last season.
COUNTRY CLUB OF THE NORTH
CCN has hired a New General Manager, Mike Pierce (he had been the director of Agronomy) His replacement is still being determined.  Former Assistant Professional Rik Cramer is now the head professional after having spent the 2014 season at Sugar Valley.
WILDWOOD GOLF CLUB
Has began a reinvestment campaign to modernize and revamp their facilities, nearing completion is their main dining and banquet area.
BROWNS RUN COUNTRY CLUB
Under the direction new General Manager, Mike Meckes.   BRCC has done a complete refurbishing of the Clubhouse which has led to much great member engagement.  Golf Professional/GM David Baril, PGA has taken a position in Colorado and Dave Tieman, PGA will begin duties as Head Professional shortly in to the new season.

MEADOWBROOK COUNTRY CLUB 
Larry Harris, the owner of Meadowbrook Country Club has donated the club to the city of Clayton.  The formal donation signing was to occur on Friday, March 13, 2015. The direction of the club will be that of public access while still focusing on serving their core membership.  Reference -  Article from Dayton Business Journal
WINDY KNOLL GOLF CLUB
The renovation of the Stables to a full service restaurant has been completed as well as the addition of "the Derby" a large banquet space.  Work on the course to enhance the playing conditions has improved pace of play and player enjoyment.   

On a lighter note they took their Hoover Crafts to the Cleveland Browns Game.  Watch The Video
 
PIQUA COUNTRY CLUB 
PCC Has gone through reorganization and will reopen from all indications later this Spring.  It will continue to be member owned, all be it a different tax id and different set of member investors….This is a good thing in that it saves our area’s oldest club (1896) from closing. 
MORAINE COUNTRY CLUB 
MCC’s golf course will close mid-summer to undergo a substantial course renovation which will include new putting surfaces.  They plan to re-open in late Spring 2016.  They have already completed a large redesign of their practice facility. 
PIPESTONE GOLF COURSE 
Pipestone’s Management Company is now Hampton Golf as they were awarded the management contract from the city of Miamisburg last fall.  The new GM is Jay Caligiuri and Head Professional is Bob Backman, PGA 
HEATHERWOODE GOLF COURSE 
Heatherwoode is now managed entirely by the City of Springboro as they downgraded their relationship with Billy Casper Golf.  Key Staffing remains the same. 
JAMAICA RUN GOLF COURSE 
Jamaica Run has a new Golf Professional – David Longley, PGA assumed his duties on March 1, 2015 
PRAIRIE TRACE GOLF CLUB
Their Clubhouse is undergoing a extensive renovation and hope to be open in early April.
GREENE COUNTRY CLUB - GEM CITY GC 
GCC appears to be no closer to opening from the indications we are receiving.  The course was maintained through the end of the 2014 growing season. 
OTHER NOTES
Anniversary's: Walnut Grove is 80 years old & Yankee Trace is 20.  
Active Score Posting Season Begins on April 1st
