QualifiersThe prestigious U.S. Women's Amateur began August 2nd at Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY.

The field of 156 competitors included 6 ladies who qualified out of Walnut Grove CC on July 8th. These ladies are Lauren Hartlage, Malia Nam, Alexandra Swayne, Marissa Wenzler, Jensen Castle, Blair Stockett, and first alternate Aneka Seumanutafa ended up getting into the championship.

After 2 rounds of stroke-play qualifying, Aneka Seumanutafa led the local names with qualifying rounds of 70 (-2) and 74 (+2), which gave her the 13th seed heading into match-play. Following was Lauren Hartlage who was just +2 after qualifying, which landed her a 36th seed heading into match-play. Then it was both Jensen Castle and Marissa Wenzler, who both carded a 36-hole score of +6, landing them in a 12-way tie at 63rd place. Castle and Wenzler were the only two girls out of twelve to birdie the first playoff hole, which secured them the last two spots in the bracket as the 63rd and 64th seed.

In the Round of 64, Marissa Wenzler, Jensen Castle, and Aneka Seumanutafa all were victorious winning by 1 up, 3 & 2, and 1 up, respectively.

In Thursday's Round of 32, Jensen Castle won her match over Sophie Linder (1up) while carding an impressive six birides. Marissa Wenzler was defeated by Hailey Borja 3 & 2 and Ankeka Seumanutafa was defeated by Aline Krauter 2 down.

During the afternoon's Round of 16 match, Castle continued to impress by carding five birdies and defeating the 15th seed in Jenny Bae 4 & 2.

The quarterfinals are taking place Friday, August 6th as Jensen Castle faces Australia's Emily Mahar at 1:20 p.m..  You can stream the matches on Peacock from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
