Greaser in Final Match for Havemeyer Trophy

Greaser_At_US_AMAustin Greaser, the Vandalia product, Butler High Graduate can join a very select group of Ohioans if he would win his final match in the 121 US Amateur being contested at Oakmont CC.  He would be joining Arnold Palmer and John Cook as the only people to win the Ohio Amateur and the US Amateur.  Not to mention he would be the first golfer from our area to win a Major Amateur Championship in the sport of golf.

His opponent in the 36 Hole Match that begins at 9am is James Piot, who attends Michigan State and plays for Casey Lubuhn the former Miami Golf Coach.  James will be a Senior when classes start in the fall.

Austin will be starting his Junior year at North Carolina University when he heads back to school in a few weeks.

Austin won his semifinal match 2up over Travis Vick.

Tomorrow’s First 18 begins at 9am and after a break for lunch the final 18 will begin in the early afternoon window, just prior to Golf Channel Coverage that begins at 3pm before it switches to NBC at 4pm.

Good Luck Austin!
