RAndom Golf Footnotes by John Fischer

Ray-Ted_1920"Ted Ray”

Recently the world of golf has been focused on the age of Bryson DeChambeau and his quest for distance off the tee and extending his reach as far as possible. He showed his prowess at Winged Foot, the Ryder Cup with a 417 yard drive and then entering the Professional Long Drivers Association World Championship where he finished seventh with a drive of 406 yards.

None of this excitement over long drivers is new. Attached is a link to a story I wrote on the first of the long drivers, Ted Ray, which appeared recently in Sports Illustrated : Morning Read.
