Last week to register for the World Handicap Seminar |
For a few weeks we have been releasing items to help you and your club prepare for the World Handicap System which goes into effect after the first of the year. There is no doubt in our mind that while we have a few months to prepare... if your club is not prepared, it will come in like a Lion as we get into the meat of the season. To help everyone prepare we will have an Educational Seminar next Saturday, December 7th at Dayton Country Club. The Session will start at 10am and conclude by 2pm. Lunch will be included in the $30 registration fee. To Register |
Playing it Forward ! |
The Thanksgiving Season brings a time of greater reflection. It's easy to see that our sport has provided a great deal to be thankful for. Why not help future generations by easing the financial burden of entry into our game?
Over the last 18 months we have brought the National Youth on Course Program to our area. The programs purpose is to reduce the expense for young golfers by only charging $5 or less to play golf. |
In the Miami Valley, this national program is only in use at three facilities, Heatherwoode, Reid Park and Yankee Trace. And while it served 571 junior golfers more than 1,500 rounds this past season, our intention is to grow throughout our service area so every potential junior golfer can take advantage.
In this time of thanks we want you to be a part of this program through our easy online donation feature through our friends at Flipcause or the Dayton Foundation. No amount it too small or too large and there are additional monthly options as well!
Thank you for your consideration and please give if you can!
If you have any questions please contact our Executive Director by calling 937-294-6842 or emailing sjurick@mvgolf.org

MORE GOLF IN 2019 CHALLENGE |
This Spring we introduced our More Golf in 2019 Challenge. We had 208 people register for the Grand Prize of a $750 gift certificate to the club that their MVGA Handicap Membership resided in 2019. Of the 208 registered, 148 posted more rounds of golf, with Bill Job from Sugar Valley leading the way with a whopping difference of 67 additional rounds played in 2019. In total we had 51 people post more than 16 rounds greater than in 2018, 23 posted an additional number of rounds between 11-15, 34 posted, 6-10 more rounds and 50 posted more than one but less than 6 rounds. Depending on what bracket you fall into your chances improve for the grand prize. To see your estimated chances as of November 24th. Contest officially ends today with the ending of the Score Posting Season. Next Week We Will Announce the Lucky Winner! |
