CADDIE, PLAYER AND ALIGNMENT RULE CHANGE  (Video)

New Rule: Under Rule 10.2b(4):

The previous prohibition is extended so that, once the player begins taking a stance for the stroke, and until the stroke is made, the player’s caddie must not deliberately stand on or close to an extension of the line of play behind the ball for any reason.

There is no penalty if the caddie accidentally stands on or close to an extension of the line of play behind the ball, rather than in trying to help in lining up.

WINNING SOLVES A LOT OF PROBLEMS
We don't often reach outside the Miami Valley for Stories, but Wednesday's Morning Read had an insightful article by Mike Purkey, on how "STARTS" are managed on the PGA Tour and how long the odds can be.  The article on the life changing win this past weekend of Adam Long is a very introspective piece on what it takes.

Winning solves lots of problems on Tour

by Mike Purkey

As a rookie on the PGA Tour, Adam Long didn’t have a choice about playing where he wanted in the 2018-19 season. He qualified for the Tour by finishing 13th on the Web.com Tour regular-season money list last year. He held a Tour card but no guarantee of how many starts he’d get. That’s one of the little-known facts of life about being a Web.com Tour graduate. You play where you can, not necessarily where you want.

Only the No. 1 on the Web.com money list – last year, it was Sungjae Im – is fully exempt and can play where he wants, including the Players Championship. The rest are ranked in the order in which they finish in the top 50 on the combined money list from the regular season and the Web.com Finals. Long stood 26th on that ranking.
