Nine teams to compete in thursday's MVTI |
The Nine Teams Competing in the 25th MVTI are CC of the North, Miami Valley GC, NCR CC, Piqua CC, Prairie Trace GC, Sugar Valley GC, Troy CC, Twin Base GC, and host Sycamore Creek CC.
Founded in 1994 by David McSemek and his firm at the time, the events purpose was to have a year end competition in which Miami Valley Area Clubs would send eight of their best players to determine who had the best playing club for that Season. The "MVTI" is now a quarter century old and hosting the coveted James C "Skip" Snow Silver Trophy donated by Deloitte & Touche is high on every clubs priority list.
Staged in a three shotgun format with four players from each club playing each side, the first shotgun is a Fourball Competition with 3 of the 4 Better Ball Scores used to determine the Team Score. The second shotgun is a Foursome Competition in which partners alternate their shots and the best 3 of the 4 Team Scores are used in the alternate shot format as well. The final 9 holes is a singles competition with 6 of the 8 scores being used to determine the team score.
This years event will be contested at Sycamore Creek CC this Thursday, September 26th.
