Each year the Southern Ohio PGA recognizes members and associates of it's organization for their commitment to the game and the passion they show to all of our collective mission.  Our Miami Valley area had three such professionals recognized in 2018.

Tom and his staff at Heatherwoode GC was awarded with the Merchandiser of the Year Award for 2018	Gip was awarded the Members Assistant of the Year Award for his efforts at Dayton CC.	Jeff was recognized for his commitment to continual learning in achieving another advanced certification.

2019 Rule: Under Rule 18.2, the time for a ball search (before the ball becomes lost) will be reduced from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.

Reasons for Change:

Limiting the search period to 3 minutes is more consistent with the underlying principle that golf is to be played in a prompt and continuous way, without long pauses in play.

In most cases, if the ball is going to be found, it will be found within the first 3 minutes.

Although this change may increase the number of lost balls, on average the overall impact should be to speed up play.

Knowing that the search time is limited to 3 minutes should encourage players to play a provisional ball when they believe there is a chance their ball may not be found.

With major changes to the Rules of Golf going into effect on January 1, 2019, your Miami Valley Golf will offer an expanded schedule of complimentary workshops.  They will take place this Fall/Winter & Spring across our area.  

The First Three Sessions are

Saturday, Nov. 17th - Troy CC - 10am - Noon
Saturday, Dec. 8th - Heatherwoode GC - 10am - Noon
Saturday, Jan. 19th - Dayton CC - 10am - Noon

These sessions are free of charge and open to any Miami Valley Golfer.
