More great feats from area golfers

We sparked a nerve reporting Gary Sult's back to back, hole in ones on #2 at NCR in last weeks edition. So...here is another great feat from an area golfer.

On July 7th a new course record was shot at the Nipper Campbell designed, Eaton CC when Jake Tinsley had a 28. Outstanding accomplishment to say the least, but to add to his string, over the last three weeks he has aced Hole #6 which plays at 154 yards on July 25th, 28th and again this past week. WOW!!

Masters event at Wildwood Monday

The third Masters Event of the 2019 Golf Season is this Monday at Wildwood Golf Club in Middletown. The event gets underway with a 1pm shotgun.

reickhoff & dorward advance to national mbc championship

Moraine hosted the Mercedes Benz Dealer Championship this past Monday presented by Mercedes Benz of Centerville

The event has great support from the community and all proceeds go to Norma J Ross Memorial Foundation.

Now in it's second decade, this is not your average fundraising event as it also qualifiers the Low Net and Low Gross Scorer for the National Mercedes Benz Dealer Championship.

Congratulations to all who made this event such a success and to Bill Dorward and Ryan Reichoff for qualifying. Best of luck to these two gentlemen as they head to Pinehurst in October.

US Men's AMateur Update

Henry Shimp made it out of Stroke Play Qualifying with his rounds of 70-73 which was good enough for a 36th Seed Position when the Matches Started.

Before the matches started, the final 3 positions in the Match Play field were determined by a 27 player playoff that concluded on Wednesday Morning . Want to read more on the playoff?

Henry lost 1 up to the 29th Seed Blake Hathcoat from Fresno, CA in the first round.

Semi Finals are today with the 36 Hole Final Match occurring on Sunday. Makes for great TV and you can watch on Fox or follow along online Here.

Late Summer's the Time for Senior Golf

We don't know if it's because it takes people of a certain age more time to get ready, or the younger folks head back to school, but Championship Senior Golf does not really get going until August in Ohio.

Congratulations to Ken Kinkopf for winning the Ohio Senior Amateur this past week at Elyria CC. From our area, Ron Eubel, our Sr Player of the Year last year, was our strongest finisher as he finished in a tie for 6th.

Our Senior Metropolitan and Mid Amateur Championship is the Tuesday and Wednesday after Labor Day at Springfield Country Club.
